This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Ford F-600 is for the Base trim medium conventional straight truck with three engines: the turbocharged 5.9L inline-six diesel (359 cubic inches), the 7.0L OHV V8 (429 cubic inches) on LPG propane or gasoline, and the turbocharged 6.6L inline-six diesel (401 cubic inches). The throttle linkage on the 5.9L diesel features in this year's recall record, so the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the speed control side of that engine deserve particular attention alongside the rest of the book.

Known issues on the 1993 F-600. Three recalls are on federal record for the 1993 F-600. On trucks with the 5.9L rotary injection pump diesel, the accelerator return springs can fracture so the pedal does not return to idle; friction between the accelerator lever and the automatic transmission modulator lever can also keep the engine from returning fully to idle; and wrong-sized clamps holding the rim and tire assembly to spoke wheels can bend the clamp studs. Owners have logged one complaint with NHTSA, on vehicle speed control. The manual's throttle linkage procedures and specifications for the 5.9L diesel and its wheel torque values cover those items.
