Known issues on the 1988 R2500. The federal record for the 1988 R2500 is clean — no recalls, no owner complaints with NHTSA. That leaves ordinary maintenance and repair, which on a truck offered with a 454 cubic inch gasoline V8 at one end and a 292 cubic inch inline-six at the other means very different figures for the same job. The manual keeps them separate and adds brake, steering, suspension and axle procedures, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the chassis all four engines share.
