1988 Dodge Shadow Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1988 Dodge Shadow addresses three gasoline inline-fours, all with a single overhead camshaft: the 2.2L in naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions and a naturally aspirated 2.5L. Known issues on the 1988 Shadow. The two recalls filed for this year both involve occupant restraints. Certain 1988 Shadow vehicles equipped with automatic shoulder restraints could see that system stop working, and the drive and rail assembly was replaced with revised parts. A second recall, covering 6,500 vehicles, involved certain 1988 Shadow cars whose front passenger lap belt retractor, with its child seat locking feature, could fail and let a child seat shift. Seat belts lead the 12 owner complaints with 6; 1 complaint reported a fire and 1 an injury. Procedures and specifications for the restraint components named in these recalls apply.
