1987 GMC C7000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1987 GMC C7000 is built around two designations, C7D042 and C7D064, and four body configurations: medium conventional tractor, medium conventional straight truck, low tilt straight truck and conventional cab and chassis. Six engines were available. The gasoline pair is the 6.0L OHV V8 and the 7.0L V8; the diesels are the 8.2L and 10.4L V8s, each in turbocharged and naturally aspirated form, so the same displacement appears twice with entirely different figures attached to it.

Known issues on the 1987 C7000. Nothing is recorded against this model year at the federal level, neither recalls nor owner complaints, which is as clean as a record gets. The manual is accordingly a working reference rather than a repair-history document. It sets out procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics system by system, and because the 8.2L and 10.4L diesels each appear in two states of induction, their turbocharged and naturally aspirated data are kept firmly apart.
