This factory service and repair manual for the 1986 GMC Caballero is written for the two-door standard cab pickup in its three trims, Base, Amarillo and Diablo. Under the hood there were two choices, both naturally aspirated and both OHV: a 5.0L gasoline V8 or a 4.3L gasoline V6. Known issues on the 1986 Caballero. Nothing is recorded against this year federally, neither recalls nor owner complaints logged with NHTSA. Anyone working on one of these is dealing with age rather than a known defect, and a factory manual is the right reference for that. It provides procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the 5.0L gasoline V8 and the 4.3L gasoline V6, and for the two-door standard cab pickup in Base, Amarillo and Diablo trim.

Remedy
