1986 Ford LNT9000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1986 Ford LNT9000 covers four diesel engines, three turbocharged inline-sixes of 10.0L (611 cu in), 14.6L (893 cu in) and 14.0L (855 cu in) and one 9.0L V6 (552 cu in), in three body styles: a short-conventional tractor truck, a low-tilt straight truck and a short-conventional straight truck. The trim is Base and nothing else. Between four engines and three cabs, the manual's specifications and torque values are engine-based while its procedures, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are keyed to chassis and cab type.

Known issues on the 1986 LNT9000. The 1986 LNT9000 carries one recall on the federal record: hand throttle controls that were not identified on the control knob or on the instrument panel as the federal controls-and-displays standard requires. NHTSA lists no owner complaints against this year. The manual's procedures and specifications for the throttle controls and the instrument panel cover that hardware, and its coverage of the three turbocharged sixes and the 9.0L V6 handles the engines themselves.
HAND THROTTLE CONTROLS WERE NOT IDENTIFIED EITHER ON THE CONTROL KNOB OR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS REQUIRED BY FMVSS 101.
