Known issues on the 1984 98. The federal record lists 1 recall for the 1984 98, limited to certain cars with cruise control and specific gasoline and diesel engines. A small nylon bushing on the servo bail of the cruise control could work loose, raising engine speed without warning or letting the engine run on after shut-off, and the servo rod could snag and hold the throttle open.
