Two machines share this book. Yamaha wrote LIT-11626-37-15 for the 2024 YZ250, code YZ250RL, and used the same volume for the YZ250 50th Anniversary bike, since the mechanical work is identical between them.

The engine chapters take the two-stroke apart in the order a technician would: top end, power valve, clutch, then cases and crank, with clearances and torque values given at each step rather than left to memory. Fuel and ignition sections list the factory carburetor settings and the checks for spark and charging faults.
