Known issues on the 2021 E450. Fourteen recalls are recorded against the 2021 E450. On certain cars the 48-volt ground cable in the engine compartment may have been left loose enough to overheat, creating a fire risk. Certain others had a trunk-mounted 12-volt battery that was not held down firmly, so a crash could break its connections and knock out eCall, hazard lights, power seat adjustment and automatic locks; dealers secured it. A third campaign covered certain vehicles whose side-impact sensor plugs could work free and slow air bag and seatbelt response. Seven owner complaints mostly concern the electrical system and engine, with one about the wheels.
