Known issues on the 2019 AMG GT 53. NHTSA lists eight recalls for the 2019 AMG GT 53. On certain 4MATIC versions, the transmission harness connection may have been wired wrong at the factory or during an earlier recall visit, leaving the connector open to corrosion and a short circuit that raises fire risk; the harness and connector are being replaced. Certain vehicles with gasoline engines could have debris caught between the fuel rail and injectors, causing a fuel leak that raises the risk of fire near hot engine or exhaust parts. A further recall covered certain vehicles whose front center console could come unlatched in some kinds of crash, letting the storage compartment open so loose cargo could be thrown into the cabin.
