Known issues on the 2018 AMG GT. NHTSA lists six recalls for the 2018 AMG GT. On certain cars, the bond between the carbon-fiber driveshaft and its flange might not hold, letting the shaft come apart and cut drive power; dealers inspect the shaft and replace it where needed. Certain others may have a driver air bag inflator housing formed from flawed steel, so the bag could fill improperly or the inflator could burst. In certain convertible versions equipped with AMG Performance Seats, the occupant classification system for the front passenger could misread the seat and wrongly switch the passenger air bag on or off.
