Known issues on the 2018 M240i. Two recalls are on the federal record for this year. In one, a crankshaft sensor carrying the wrong firmware cannot read the reluctor ring correctly, and the engine can stall while the car is being driven. In the other, a software fault in the instrument panel leaves the display unlit, so control and warning symbols may not appear to the driver at startup or on the road.
