Known issues on the 2017 S550e. The 2017 S550e appears in three recalls on the NHTSA record. On certain cars, a transistor in the power steering control unit could overheat and switch off steering assist; dealers inspect the steering rack and replace it if needed. Certain vehicles may show the driver-side rear door as locked when it is not, so the door could be opened unintentionally. The third affects certain cars whose communication module software might transmit the wrong location to the emergency call system after a crash. The manual provides procedures, specifications and wiring diagrams for the steering, door lock and telematics systems.
