Known issues on the 2017 GLA250. NHTSA lists nine recalls for this model year. One involved certain vehicles in which the steering shaft's bore for the universal joint bearing allowed too much play, which over time could let the bearing and joint part company and cost the driver steering control; dealers inspected and replaced shafts as needed. Several others dealt with certain vehicles' emergency-call systems, from a SIM software fault that blocked the network connection to modules switched off during service.
