Known issues on the 2017 XE. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first affects diesel-engine XEs with a fuel return hose that may leak, and a diesel fuel leak onto the road surface can create a skid hazard or, if it contacts a hot engine or exhaust component, an increased fire risk. The second covers vehicles that received a replacement rear rail assembly during a service repair: missing spot welds can weaken the rail's structural strength, allowing the rear bumper beam to detach while towing or the tow-bar assembly to detach when towing a trailer, either of which raises the risk of a crash.
