Known issues on the 2016 GLE550e. Five recalls name the 2016 GLE550e. Water collecting in the spare tire well of certain vehicles could damage the fuel pump control unit and stall the engine; dealers add a drain plug. Certain vehicles had an electric power steering connector sealed poorly enough for water to reach the control unit and switch off steering assist. And in certain vehicles built from April 23, 2014, to May 10, 2016, a miscalibrated passenger seat occupant sensor could read an adult as a child seat and disable that air bag.
