Known issues on the 2016 GLE350d. For the 2016 GLE350d, the federal record holds two recalls, both naming 4Matic versions. On certain vehicles a poorly sealed connector could let water reach the electric power steering control unit and switch off steering assist, so dealers replaced the connector. Certain vehicles built from April 23, 2014 to May 10, 2016 could have a miscalibrated occupant sensing system that read a passenger as a child seat and turned off the front passenger air bag. The wider 2016 GLE-Class line drew four owner complaints, including one each about equipment, the engine and exterior lighting.
