Known issues on the 2016 C63 AMG S. The 2016 C63 AMG S is named in three recalls. Repeated aggressive launches could fracture the rear differential mounting flange on certain vehicles, prompting a stability and chassis software update; certain vehicles needed extra grounding at the steering components to prevent an unintended driver air bag deployment; and certain vehicles had emergency call software that could misstate the date and time and pass on a wrong location. Separately, NHTSA filed two recalls against the 2016 AMG C63 models, one for certain vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof whose front roof panel, between the windshield and the sunroof, may have been bonded poorly in a prior repair.
