2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 Service and Repair Manual

When the R1 was reworked for 2015, Yamaha wrote LIT-11616-28-52 to cover it, and put the YZF-R1M in the same book. Owners of either bike are reading the same procedures, with variant-specific specifications called out where the M's equipment demands different figures.

The standard 2015 machine is model code YZFR1FB. Match that before you rely on anything in here; the R1M carries its own code and a handful of its own sections.

This generation asks more of a service manual than the ones before it, and the factory text reflects that — engine management systems, sensor diagnosis and fault codes sit alongside the mechanical work rather than as an afterthought. Alongside them you get the maintenance schedule, engine disassembly in sequence, chassis and suspension setup, brake service and the wiring diagrams. Torque values throughout are Yamaha's, which is the point of buying the factory book.
