Known issues on the 2013 Prius V. One recall stands on the federal record for this model year, under exterior lighting — tail lights. Genera Corporation (Genera) is recalling certain aftermarket replacement tail lights, model 11-6468-00 (driver-side), and model 11-6467-00 (passenger-side), sold for use on 2012-2013 Toyota Prius V. The reversed tail lamp function reduces the ability to warn other motorists. Owners have submitted 164 complaints against the 2013 Prius V, and 221 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
That recall reaches only cars whose tail lamps were swapped for those aftermarket units — the defect sits in the replacement lamps, not in the lighting Toyota fitted at the factory. On an otherwise original 2013 Prius V, the 221 bulletins are the larger body of documented fault history to work through.
