Yamaha kept this bike in production with few mechanical changes, which is why one book handles 2008 through 2014 and takes in the Road Star S, Silverado and Silverado S as well. The practical effect is that you get the whole later production run documented, and you locate your machine by year and code in the tables.

Procedures assume factory tooling and factory tolerances. Valve clearance checking and adjustment, clutch and primary drive work, transmission service, fuel and ignition system testing, charging output measurement, fork and rear suspension service, brake pad and disc wear limits, belt drive inspection and adjustment are all specified with the torque figures that go with them.
