Known issues on the 2008 ML500. The 2008 ML500 has one recall of its own. In certain vehicles, moisture building up in the brake booster housing could cause corrosion that cut braking power or led to brake failure, so owners were instructed to keep it off the road until repaired. Three recalls went to the 2008 M-Class line, including certain vehicles with a power steering driving pin that could break during an ordinary turn and remove hydraulic assist, and certain vehicles equipped with the Flex-N-Gate hitch, where welds joining the receiver to its attachment bar fell short of specification.
