Known issues on the 2007 Silverado 2500 HD Classic. The federal record carries three recalls for this truck. Two of them concern a passenger frontal air bag inflator whose propellant degrades with time and humidity until it can explode rather than inflate, driving sharp metal at whoever is in the front seat. The third describes too much current pulled through the trailer harness melting a fusible link that can then rest against nearby wiring and body panels, with fire the result. Of 204 complaints, 84 name the air bags, 19 the service brakes and 17 the power train.
