Known issues on the 2007 STS. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the fuel pump module: the electrical terminals can overheat and melt the flange material, opening a hole that lets fuel leak, which can cause the vehicle to stall and raises the risk of both a crash and a fire. The second covers the rear axle pinion seal, which can fail to meet specification and develop a fluid leak, and a resulting rear differential failure can cause loss of motive power and loss of control.
