With the 2006 model year the part number changes to LIT-11616-RS-01, and the Midnight's code becomes XV17AMV.

Both details matter when you are ordering, because the 2004-2005 book looks nearly identical on a listing and does not cover this machine. What LIT-11616-RS-01 does cover is 2006 and 2007, across the Midnight, the base Road Star, the Silverado and the Midnight Silverado.

As a factory text it works through the bike in service order: scheduled maintenance and tune-up specifications, engine removal, cylinder heads, valve train, clutch, primary drive and transmission with torque values, then fuel, ignition, charging and starting, then forks, rear suspension, wheels, brakes and the belt final drive with their wear limits. The electrical chapter has the wiring diagram and a fault-tracing sequence.
