Known issues on the 2006 CLS55 AMG. The federal record holds four recalls for the 2006 CLS55 AMG, all about roof glass: on certain cars the sunroof panel might not be held securely, or its bond to the sliding roof frame could weaken, letting the glass come away. NHTSA filed a separate recall against the 2006 CLS-Class line, for certain vehicles whose brake control system could fall back early to hydraulic backup after a harness connection degraded or the pump failed, demanding more pedal effort. Of 31 owner complaints on this car, 19 cite fuel and propulsion; separately, six complaints were filed against the 2006 CLS-Class line. Sunroof, brake and fuel work is supported by specifications, torque values and wiring diagrams.
