Known issues on the 2005 Magnum. Recall campaigns against the 2005 Magnum number 7. On certain 2005 Magnum wagons, moisture could reach the dual-stage driver air bag and make its inflator burst, throwing metal fragments; owners were told not to drive until it was replaced. Certain cars with the 42RLE automatic could lose the ability to hold park if a misfitted cup plug let the pawl anchor shaft wander. A third, covering 20,060 vehicles, concerned certain cars whose bulkhead-stud battery cable fasteners may not have been tightened properly, an instrument panel fire risk. Owners filed 637 complaints, led by air bags (131) and power train (117); 22 complaints reported a crash, 9 a fire, 24 an injury and 1 a death.
