Known issues on the 2005 PT Cruiser. The 2005 PT Cruiser carries 3 recalls. On certain vehicles with four-wheel ABS, the high-output turbocharged 2.4L and a five-speed manual transaxle, the left front brake tube could sit too close to the transaxle case and wear through, costing braking in one hydraulic circuit; 115 vehicles were covered and new tubes installed. Certain cars could shed the rear quarter glass as its fasteners pulled free. Certain non-turbo automatics could see the power steering pressure hose chafe and leak. Complaints reach 256, topped by the electrical system (46) and suspension (32); 15 complaints reported a crash and 16 an injury.
