This factory service and repair manual for the 2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK320 is for the Base convertible with the 3.2L V6. Single overhead camshafts, no turbo or supercharger and gasoline fuel define that engine, which is the only one recorded; the 2-door convertible is the only body. Older cars benefit most from precise information, since worn parts and past repairs make guesswork expensive.

Known issues on the 2004 SLK320. NHTSA filed one recall against the wider 2004 SLK-Class line: on certain vehicles, heat could gradually deform a side brake lamp socket until the bulb's contacts loosened and it no longer lit, and dealers fitted new rear lamp modules. For the 2004 SLK320 itself, a single complaint has been lodged, about the power train. Rear lighting wiring diagrams, power train diagnostics, and the specifications and torque values for the V6 and transmission are part of this manual.
