1999 Yamaha WR400 Service and Repair Manual

Although the 1999 WR400 shares code WR400FK with the previous season, Yamaha issued it a separate service publication, LIT-11626-12-58, for the 1999 model year. That distinction is worth knowing before you order, because the two books are not interchangeable in detail.

The text sets out engine and transmission overhaul in sequence, valve clearance measurement and shim selection, tightening torques and wear limits, suspension and brake service, and electrical diagnosis with the full factory wiring diagrams. Troubleshooting is organised by symptom.

Check your frame plate, then order against LIT-11626-12-58 if the bike is a 1999.

The maintenance chapter also states the intervals and settings Yamaha specified when the bike was current, which is a useful baseline for a machine that has probably been serviced to somebody else's schedule since. Capacities and recommended lubricants are listed alongside.
