Yamaha built the 1999 Virago 250 as the XV250L and supported it with the manual numbered LIT-11616-XV-25. Confirm the code stamped on the frame before ordering.

Coverage is broad because the factory kept one volume in service across the model's long life: 1988, 1989, 1990, then 1995 through 1999, then 2001 through 2005, with the Route 66 included. A single set of procedures therefore describes the bike you own and its close relations, with the differences flagged by model code where they exist.

Expect torque figures, valve and ignition settings, wiring diagrams, cable routing and step-by-step overhaul sequences. There is no owner-handbook filler here.
