For 1999 the V Star Classic carried the code XVS650AL, a suffix change from the previous season that does not move it out of the same factory book. Order it by part number LIT-11616-XV-00.

Yamaha wrote that manual to serve 1998 through 2000, and it includes the V Star Custom, which shares the engine, driveline and most of the chassis with your Classic. Where the two diverge the text says so, which is useful when you are working from an exploded view and want to be sure the piece in front of you belongs to the Classic.
