1998 Yamaha VENTURE 500 Service and Repair Manual

For a 1998 Venture 500 the factory code is VT500B, and the book Yamaha wrote for it is LIT-12618-SM-00. Check the code first, because the 1997 sled uses VT500A and some tables differ between the two.

That single volume was made to serve a long list of machines: five model years from 1997 to 2001 and eighteen models, including the SX 500R, SX 600R, SX 700R, the many V Max 500 and 600 configurations, the V Max 700 and 700 SX, and the Venture 600. Where two sleds share a part, the procedure appears once and the specification chart sorts out the differences.
