When the G16 ULTIMA arrived for 1996, Yamaha published one service volume for the whole platform and gave it the number LIT-19616-G1-60. The car described here is the carburetted G16-AP, model code G16AP.

Seven model years fall inside that book, 1996 through 2002. So do thirteen sister models: the carburetted G16-AR, G16-AS, G16-AT, G16-AU, G16-AW and G16-AX, and the 36-volt DC motor cars G16-EP, G16-ER, G16-ES, G16-ET, G16-EU, G16-EW and G16-EX.

The procedures are the factory's, written for a technician. Components come apart in a stated order, measurements are given with the service limits that decide whether a part is reused, fasteners have torque figures, and the electrical chapters include the wiring diagrams for the circuits as built.
