1996 Ford LTLS9000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1996 Ford LTLS9000 covers six diesel engines fitted to the long conventional straight truck and tractor, each sold in Base trim. Four of the six, the 10.0L, 14.0L, 14.6L and 10.8L inline-sixes, are turbocharged, the 10.3L six-cylinder is not, and the 12.7L inline-six adds aftercooling on top of its turbocharger. The manual keeps their specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics apart, because a figure that is right for one of these engines is rarely right for the next.

Known issues on the 1996 LTLS9000. Federal records show no recalls for the 1996 LTLS9000 and no owner complaints registered with NHTSA. That leaves preventive service as the whole story, and the manual handles it: procedures for the fuel and injection equipment on six diesels, cooling and charge-air work on the turbocharged and aftercooled units, torque values throughout, and wiring diagrams with the diagnostics that go beside them.
