For the 1991 Virago 1100, code XV1100B, the book to order is LIT-11616-XV-11.

It is a long-service manual: sixteen model years, 1984 to 1999, and five model names including the 700, 750, 1000 and 1100 Special. That breadth is the reason Yamaha labelled its specification tables by code, and the reason it pays to know yours.

Once you are in the right column, the manual behaves like any good factory reference. Maintenance intervals and the procedures behind them come first. The engine section takes the V-twin apart in sequence with each clearance and limit stated. Carburetion has its own chapter, as do the chassis and the electrical system, the latter with meter readings and the complete diagrams.
