Known issues on the 1991 R3500. One recall appears on the federal record for these trucks, and it concerns replacement oil filters rather than factory hardware: the affected filters may not seal adequately, which can let the engine lose its oil and, in the worst case, start a fire. Owner complaints number two, both about the service brakes. That is a small sample, but brakes on a truck this heavy are worth attention, and the manual gives hydraulic, adjustment and diagnostic procedures for them alongside the lubrication specifications the recall makes relevant.
