Known issues on the 1990 Cutlass Ciera. Two recalls apply to the 1990 Cutlass Ciera. In one, certain cars had rear outboard belt mountings that might be too weak for the required load, which could let the anchor rip away from the body in a collision; dealers fitted new shoulder bolts. In the other, certain cars with six-way power seats or power recliners could have the seat wiring pinched or rubbed through by the frame, shorting and welding the breaker shut so the wiring could overheat and set the cushion alight; any chafed wiring was repaired and the harness rerouted.
