1989 Yamaha G1 (CARB 2-STROKE) Service and Repair Manual

Model code G1-AMD is the 1989 carbureted G1, the last model year Yamaha listed in manual LIT-11616-G1-83.

That manual reaches back to 1982 and takes in thirteen variants along the way, two-stroke and 36-volt electric together. By 1989 the car had been in production long enough that most procedures were unchanged from the earlier years, which is why the single volume still applied.

Repair content runs through the carburettor and ignition with their settings, engine service limits, the clutch and drive, then the chassis: brakes, rear axle, steering and front suspension, each with removal order and torque values. The periodic maintenance schedule gives intervals, and the wiring diagram is reproduced as Yamaha drew it. For a car this age the tabulated service limits are often the only reliable way to judge whether a worn part is still usable.
