1989 Ford LN7000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1989 Ford LN7000 documents a short-conventional tractor and straight truck, sold in Base trim, with two turbocharged inline-six diesels: the 7.8L (473 cu in) and the 6.6L (401 cu in). Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are provided for each engine, and the chassis coverage distinguishes the tractor from the straight truck, so either build of this truck is fully documented.

Known issues on the 1989 LN7000. A single recall stands on the federal record, and it concerns the air brake supply: secondary service reservoir check valves may not seat because a circular brass guide interferes with the wall of a cylindrical ferrule. Owners have added nothing to that record. Reservoirs, check valves and the rest of the air system are therefore the first place to look, while the pair of turbocharged inline-sixes, the 7.8L and the 6.6L, carry no documented history at all.
SECONDARY SERVICE RESERVOIR AIR CHECK VALVES MAY NOT SEAT PROPERLY DUE TO A MECHANICAL INTERFERENCE CONDITION BETWEEN A CIRCULAR BRASS GUIDE AND THE WALL OF A CYLINDRICAL FERRULE I
