Known issues on the 1988 R3500. The federal record on this model year is clean, with no recalls and no owner complaints. In place of a defect list the manual offers depth: fuel, ignition and valvetrain figures for the 7.4L and 5.7L V8s and the 4.8L inline-six, injection and glow plug diagnosis for the 6.2L diesel, and brake, steering, suspension and axle procedures for the chassis under all four body configurations, each with torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics.

THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS ON EACH SIDE OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE THIRTY-NINE SQUARE INCHES OF REFLECTIVE SURFACE, LESS THAN THE FIFTY SQUARE INCHES REQUIRED BY FMVSS 111.

REDUCED REFLECTIVE AREA ON OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORSREDUCES THE DRIVER'S APPARENT AREA OF VISIBILITY
