Known issues on the 1988 R30. NHTSA records nothing against this year: no recalls, no owner complaints. The manual is therefore the entire reference, and for a truck built in this many configurations that is a substantial job — four sets of engine specifications and diagnostics, driveline and axle procedures, brake and steering service, suspension data, and wiring diagrams that have to account for a bare chassis as readily as a crew cab. Torque values accompany each procedure.
