Known issues on the 1987 190E. NHTSA filed one recall against the 1987 W201-chassis models: certain cars had a parking brake grip prone to distorting and holding the release knob half-set, so the brake could let go unexpectedly and a car left on a slope with the transmission not properly positioned might roll. For the 190E itself, both of its 2 owner complaints concern visibility, and 2 complaints reported an injury. The 1987 W201-chassis models account for 5 further complaints, two on speed control.
