1987 GMC B6000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1987 GMC B6000 covers four engines: the 6.0L OHV and 5.7L gasoline V8s and the 8.2L V8 diesel in both turbocharged and naturally aspirated form. The bus was cataloged as a cab forward school bus and a cab forward non school bus, in each case as B6P042. Because the same chassis carries either a gasoline V8 or a diesel, the engine chapters are separate while the brake, steering and electrical chapters serve every build.

Known issues on the 1987 B6000. No recalls sit on the federal record for this bus and no owner complaints are logged with NHTSA. The manual gets on with the work it was written for. It provides procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the two gasoline V8s and the two 8.2L diesels, and it does the same for the cab forward chassis, so a technician can go from a diagnostic reading to a repair procedure to a final torque value without leaving the book.
