1987 BMW 325 Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1987 325. Two recalls stand on the federal record for this year. In the first, a failure in the cooling system drives temperature and pressure up until something gives: a hose leaks, the radiator or expansion tank splits, a connection lets go, or the heater core end piece cracks and boiling coolant escapes. In the second, the brake light switch can overheat and melt its internal plastic, jamming the plunger so the lights stay off or stay on regardless of the pedal. Thirty-one complaints follow the same ground, nine on engine and engine cooling, five on visibility and four on the electrical system.
