1986 Yamaha G1 (36V - DC MOTOR) Service and Repair Manual

Yamaha listed the 1986 36-volt G1 under model code G1-EM, and the manual covering it is part number LIT-11616-G1-83. Note that the EM code appears on more than one machine in the range, so match the model year as well.

This volume takes in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1989, and thirteen G1 variants across those years. One book therefore answers for the whole late G1 line, carbureted cars included.

Inside, the periodic maintenance schedule comes first, then chassis and electrical service. Brake, axle, steering and suspension procedures list the order of removal, the wear limits and the tightening torques. The electrical section covers the motor, control circuit and charging system with the factory readings, and the wiring diagram is reproduced as Yamaha drew it, which makes connector and wire identification straightforward on a car that has been apart before.
