Known issues on the 1986 El Camino. Two recalls sit on the record for this year, both involving replacement filters sold for these vehicles. One covers fuel filters that may not seal at the connection, so gasoline can seep out and, near an ignition source, catch. The other covers oil filters that can seal inadequately and lose engine oil, again with a fire risk once the oil reaches something hot. A single owner complaint is on record, against the seat belts.
