Known issues on the 1985 Spectrum. One recall is on the federal record. The fuel pump diaphragm can degrade where alcohol content in the gasoline attacks its coating, cracking radially until it perforates; fuel then leaks out of the pump into the engine compartment, where it can start a fire under the hood with no warning beforehand. A single owner complaint has been recorded, and it concerns visibility.
