1984 Yamaha VIRAGO 700 Service and Repair Manual

Yamaha wrote one large manual for the air-cooled V-twin Virago family, and its part number is LIT-11616-XV-11. The 1984 Virago 700 sits inside that coverage under the model code XV700L.

A book that spans the family

Alongside the 700, the volume documents the Virago 750, the 1000, the 1100 and the 1100 Special, across model years 1984 to 1999. That is deliberate. These machines share architecture, and Yamaha found it more useful to publish shared procedures with model-specific specifications than to split them into separate books.

For an owner it means the fitment tables become a reference in their own right. You can see at a glance which settings belong to the 700 and which are common to the larger engines. Torque figures, service limits, wiring diagrams and overhaul sequences are all present, organised by system rather than by displacement.
