Known issues on the 1984 Delta 88. NHTSA lists 3 recalls for the 1984 Delta 88. Certain 1984 Delta 88 vehicles with cruise control and certain gasoline and diesel engines were recalled because a nylon bushing in the cruise servo could slide out, causing surges in engine speed or run-on and possibly a throttle held open by the servo rod; a new bushing fixed it. Certain 1984 Delta 88 vehicles with hydroboost brakes were built with the wrong pedal bracket, leaving the brake pedal lower than intended. The bracket was swapped for the correct part, and that recall listed 139 vehicles. NHTSA also holds 9 complaints, 1 reporting a crash and 2 a fire.
